About our principal, Andrew Kirby
Andrew Kirby is an experienced advisor, negotiator and litigator.
Andrew started Kirby Lawyers & Advisors after 25 years as a commercial barrister at the Victorian Bar and careers in investment banking and as a solicitor at a large law firm.
Andrew has advised on and successfully appeared in many commercial law cases, especially in the areas of shareholder, board and partnership disputes, property and trust matters, the recovery of failed and fraudulent investments and banking and financial services.
Andrew was recognised in the 2025 and 2026 editions of The Best Lawyers in Australia for his expertise in Litigation, Banking and Finance Law and Insolvency and Reorganisation Law
He also advises small to medium enterprises, including membership organisations such as golf and other sporting clubs, on governance and litigation matters.
Andrew is a passionate golfer dedicated to supporting the sport. He was on the council of his golf club for seven years, including three years as Captain and Chairman.
