About our principal, Andrew Kirby
Andrew Kirby is an experienced adviser, negotiator and litigator.
Andrew started Kirby Lawyers & Advisors after 25 years as a commercial barrister at the Victorian Bar and careers in investment banking and as a solicitor at a large law firm.
Andrew has advised on and successfully appeared in many commercial law cases and transactions, especially in the areas of property, shareholder, board and partnership disputes, trusts, the recovery of failed and fraudulent investments and banking and financial services.
He also specialises in advising golf clubs and other organisations in the golf sector on a wide range of matters, including governance, rules and board issues, meetings, disciplinary matters, contracts, privacy law, property law and dispute resolution.
Andrew is a passionate golfer dedicated to supporting the sport. He was on the Board of his golf club for seven years, including three years as Captain and Chairman.
Andrew was recognised in the 2025 and 2026 editions of The Best Lawyers in Australia for his expertise in Litigation, Banking and Finance Law and Insolvency and Reorganisation Law
